Chivas is going through a crisis that only promises to grow bigger if Amaury Vergara doesn't focus on the team and acts, as the club is adrift and neither him nor Ricardo Peláez have managed to find a project that gives them a new Liga MX title.

Amaury Vergara has the perfect replacement for Marcelo Michel Leaño in Chivas

It's clear that Marcelo Michel Leaño doesn't have a solid long-term plan, as he has coached Chivas for 16 games and has only won 4 of them, saving a draw in 5 more and losing the remainder 7, for a total of 17 out of 48 available points.

But according to reports of sports journalist David Medrano, Vergara is not planning on firing the Mexican coach any time soon, as he promised his friend to give him at least a full season in El Rebaño's dugout.

That might change if Michel Leaño doesn't start winning in the next few weeks, as they are just two points away from Club América, who currently stand last in Liga MX, even if they are standing 10, in place to be playing Repechaje.

But even his stay in Chivas’ dugout could mean one of the worst seasons in recent years, it also opens the door to a negotiation that Jorge Vergara started when he owned the team, as he was contemplating selling the team, although now that Amaury is the owner, he has refused to continue negotiating, a stand he might have to change if the current crisis aggravates.

Who is the party that wants to buy the team?

According to reports, Jorge Vergara was in conversations with Arturo Elías Ayub to continue the legacy of El Rebaño Sagrado, and Elías Ayub even acknowledged that the interest he had in Chivas was real, as he wants to keep improving the history of the club.

He is part of the group that owns Spanish side Real Oviedo, who currently plays in Spain second flight, and was also president of the patronage of Pumas UNAM from 2001 to 2004, which means he has experience managing a soccer team.

How much does Chivas cost?

According to the last report of Forbes, Chivas has a market value of $311.5 million, although Jorge Vergara had established a price of over $800 million, giving that is one of the most profitable teams and brands in Mexican soccer.
