The regular phase of Liga MX 2022 has concluded, but now the reclassification process continues, and if Chivas beats Pumas UNAM, there could be a Clasico at the Omnilife Stadium.
Amaury Vergara already has a new coach for Chivas
The situation is ripe for the Rebaño Sagrado to add intensity to the Liguilla if they can beat the Auriazules in their reclassification match.
The situation is such that if Chivas beats Pumas in the reclassification, there will be a classic since the only option for the Rebaño in the quarterfinals is to face Atlas in the Clasico Tapatio if Puebla also advances.
Alternatively, if they manage to eliminate Los Camoteros, there will be the Clásico Nacional against América. This is because if places 5, 6, and 7 advances to the reclassification, which are the places that correspond to Puebla, Chivas, and Rayados.
And if this happens, we will have two classics in the Liguilla: the Clasico Regio between Tigres and Monterrey, and the Clasico Tapatio between Chivas and Atlas.
If the Rebaño Sagrado fails to advance to the Liguilla, there is also the possibility that we will have a Clásico but between two different teams, since if places 5, 6, and 7 fail to advance to the playoffs, place 8, which is Cruz Azul, will advance.
And if the Cementeros make it through to the Liguilla, there would be a Clasico Joven, which is Club America vs Cruz Azul, a rivalry that has grown since both clubs share the same stadium.
The reclassification matches that we will have as a prelude to the Liguilla are ready and all that remains is for Liga MX to inform us about the dates and times of the matches, as well as the stadiums in which these matches will be played.
The crossings are readily based on the place that these teams occupied in the general classification, so these are the matches of the teams that will play in the reclassification:
Puebla vs Mazatlán
Chivas vs Pumas
Rayados vs San Luis
Cruz Azul vs Necaxa
The Rebaño Sagrado had one of the most complicated tournaments in recent years, as they were coached by Marcelo Michel Leaño at the beginning of the season.
And the coach did not do a very good job, since, after an initial victory against Mazatlán, the Rojiblancos began an irregular tournament, in which, thanks to draws and defeats, they ended up in the last place in the standings.
Due to these irregular results, the Chivas board of directors decided to fire Leaño and put Ricardo Cadena in his place as interim coach, with whom the team managed to get into the reclassification, due to their last 4 victories.
As a result, the Rebaño Sagrado managed to get into the playoffs at the last minute.
Chivas: Ricardo Cadena won’t stay in El Rebaño for next season; this is his next club
