It’s no lie to say that Club América is having one of the worst participations in Liga MX since at least 1996, when the short tournaments were established in 1996, as they’ve been at the bottom of the table since Clausura 2022 started.

This player will leave Club América as soon as Ricardo Ferretti becomes their coach

The bad results that Santiago Solari had on the first eight rounds of the current season got him sacked after the 1-1 draw against Club Querétaro, especially since Gallos Blancos managed to save one point after tying the match with a last-minute penalty kick.

Since then, Las Águilas have had Fernando “Tano” Ortíz as the interim coach, although both Ortíz and Emilio Azcárraga knows that is a temporary measure, as he will return to his position as Las Águilas U-20 squad, job he arrived in January of this year.

Azcárraga hadn’t showed any rush given he trusts what “Tano” Ortíz can do for the remainder of the season, although for the first two games that he was in Las Águilas’ dugout, América didn’t show any improvement and was able to earn just one point.

Will “Tano” Ortíz finish the season with Las Águilas?

After the victory over Toluca for the game of round 11, it seems that Ortíz has finally established his own system during the training sessions and that the players are answering to his project, which suggest that Azcárraga will keep him for the next six games of Clausura 2022.

But for Apertura 2022, he already made a decision of changing coaches and has already started looking for a potential replacement. And according to reports from sports journalist David Medrano, América already found their next coach.

Who is the coach that will arrive in Club América?

David Medrano revealed that Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti will no longer be coaching FC Juárez for the next season, as he has decided to leave Bravos given the poor results and the lack of commitment form the players on their roster.

And with Ferretti’s decision of leaving his current job, he’s also opening the door for a more ambitious project, something he was used to when he was coaching Tigres and a thing that Club América will surely give him.
