After Lillini's confirmation at Pumas UNAM, the coach reportedly asked for these players

It's no secret that Pumas UNAM's homegrown players are one of the team's greatest assets and the fact that Andres Lillini has debuted several players is a very positive thing for the institution.

However, this brings with it a big problem that this year cost the Auriazules the CONCACAF Champions League, in addition to making them finish the Liga MX 2022 very badly, and it is a problem that has always dragged the institution down.

Therefore, it is speculated that yesterday, when Lillini signed his contract renewal, he sent a hint to the team's board of directors.

Did Lillini send a hint to the presidency of Pumas UNAM?

Apparently, in the thank-you message that Andrés Lillini dedicated to the University team's microphones, the coach apparently put an end to the debut of youth players in order to discreetly ask the board for reinforcements

The Mexican press has been speculating about this hint after having read the message that the Argentinean coach said to the microphones of the media of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

"Young people are my essence. I only asked Leopoldo (Silva), the president, and (Miguel) Mejía Barón (sports vice-president) to let me continue with this, not so much debuting, but consolidating. The time has come to consolidate them, we have made our debuts. We are going to keep the base of players. That is my ideology", were the coach's words.

In Lillini's message, according to the Mexican media, it can be read that the coach is putting a stop to the debut of homegrown players, just to say something that University fans have always wanted the club's management to know.

Andres Lillini would have told the board what the Universitarios fans have been waiting for

Universitario fans know that their team's problem is not the homegrown players or Andres Lillini's game plan, but the lack of reinforcements for the club.

This lack of reinforcements meant that Pumas UNAM had to play two tournaments with the same players for the most part, as they do not have a bench with renowned players that can support the wear and tear that playing two tournaments can cause to a team.

These two tournaments are the Liga MX 2022 and the CONCACAF Champions League, competitions in which the Universitario team competed this year, but due to a lack of players could not have a better performance.

In the Concachampions, the team was able to have a great tournament, but in the final stages, injured players weighed heavily on the team in the match against Seattle Sounders, especially in the absence of Alan Mozo.

And in the Liga MX, the same thing happened to them, as the absence of this player weighed heavily on them in the defeat against Chivas. It is therefore important that the Auriazul team can count on more reinforcements in the next tournament.
