It's something Felinos fans don't want to face, but despite his great game in the Tigres UNAL vs Cruz Azul match, André Pierre-Gignac has already set a date for his retirement.

And everything seems to indicate that the star player of the Felino club is not willing to change this date for anything in the world, even though he continues to give great matches on the pitch.

Gignac had a great match in Tigres UNAL vs Cruz Azul despite his age

The 36-year-old French striker continues to play great matches and in the Tigres UNAL vs Cruz Azul match, he is being fundamental for his team and despite not scoring in this match, he has given his team a lot of depth in attack.

And this is not the only match in which the player has shown that, despite his age, he has what it takes to face all the clubs in Liga MX. And this year, at 36 years of age, he reached a new achievement: he is once again the tournament's scoring champion.

Since he arrived in Mexican soccer in 2015, he has received numerous awards including a Golden Ball for the best player in the league, three scoring championships, being named twice the best striker in Liga MX, and the best striker in Concacaf.

He has also been recognized as the top scorer and best player of the CONCACAF Champions League, top scorer and Silver Ball of the FIFA Club World Cup, and has been included in the league's Best XI on five occasions.

However, no date will not come and the player himself has already spoken about how close he is to his retirement date and has said where he would like to end his career.

"I want to continue my career here. I fell in love many years ago; now, if I can still contribute with my legs, and the club tells me they don't want me to, then I want to play soccer until my legs give out. So, we'll see, but my mind is set on finishing my career at Tigres," was what the striker said in an interview this year.

But to the dismay of Tigres and Gignac fans, the player has already set a date for his retirement and that day is closer than everyone thinks.

André Pierre-Gignac has already set his retirement date

According to information available on the specialized web portal Transfermarkt, Gignac's retirement date will be June 30, 2024, as that is the date on which his contract with Tigres expires and by that time, the player will already be 38 years old.

The last time the player renewed his contract with the institution was on February 26, 2021, when his contract was extended to 2024.

However, there has been no further talking at the institution about renewing his contract again, so Tigres has also implied that the player is close to retirement.
