Santiago Solari was the first one to be sacked from his position in Club América, although he’s not the last. During his first year in Las Águilas dugout he had good numbers, but for Clausura 2022, he left the team at the bottom of the table.

Fernando Ortíz has done more for Club América in a day that what Solari did

In the eight games that Solari coached Club América in the current season, Las Águilas only managed to win one away game on their visit to Santos Laguna. They also tied three games -against Club Puebla, Pumas UNAM and Club Querétaro-, but only against Pumas were able to keep a clean sheet.

And although Solari was the main responsible for the current crisis, Santiago Baños, Club América’s chairman, also showed his inability to sign the players that Santiago Solari requested, something that diminished the plan that the former coach had established for Clausura 2022.

And not only that, since his arrival in Club América in 2017, Las Águilas have won just one Liga MX title, in 2018, making evident that he’s not suited to occupy the position he’s in, which is why Emilio Azcárraga is looking to replace him, and Daniel Brailovsky could be the chosen one.

What is Brailovsky asking to arrive in Las Águilas?

When asked about what América needs to get out of the current crisis, “El Ruso” said that “there should be a big restructuration, starting from the top and going all the way down, from the senior team to the academy teams” as América needs to return to what the Americanismo means.

Reports suggested that Brailovsky wouldn’t take Baños’ place, instead, he would have a new position that was going to be above Baños, but the current América chairman didn’t like the idea and has decided to step down and leave his position vacant.

The former Club América player knows that Las Águilas need to have a solid base to build a team that can be a contender every single tournament, and that’s only possible through a mix of academy team players and top additions, something that the Azulcremas have stopped doing.

Which players will Brailovsky bring to América?

To fulfill the idea he has of what Club América should be, Brailovsky would pursue the addition of a top player, like Carlos Vela, who will end his contract with Los Angeles FC this year, making him the perfect player to start the restructure of Las Águilas.
