Cruz Azul earned their ticket to Liguilla after beating Club Necaxa in Repechaje, on a game that had Sebastián Jurado as the hero of La Máquina, as he was a protagonist during the game, but especially in the penalty shootout that define the result after the regular time ended in a 1-1 draw.

After Cruz Azul showed interest in Juan Dinenno, Pumas has established a new price for him

Although the playoffs of Mexican soccer always give a new chance for the qualified teams of leaving behind the bad results gathered in the regular season and everything can happen, it looks complicated that Cruz Azul will become Liga MX champions.

That’s why regardless of the outcome in the quarterfinals, La Máquina are already thinking of the 2022-23 Liga MX Season, as they know they need to strengthen the squad to avoid having another irregular season like they did for the most part of Clausura 2022.

One of the additions they are pursuing is the one of Juan Ignacio Dinenno, Pumas’s striker, as they lacked a forward that could score consistently, as Iván Morales only scored one goal and Juan Reynoso doesn’t fully trusts Santiago Giménez.

Dinenno is not the only “Puma” that Cruz Azul wants

But the arrival of Juan Dinenno at Cruz Azul won’t be the only movement that will happen between both clubs, as La Máquina knows that they need to take advantage of the situation in which Pumas currently are.

Given that Juan Reynoso doesn’t have guaranteed his continuity with Cruz Azul, as Jaime Ordiales is looking to replace him, they are also targeting current Pumas’s coach Andrés Lillini, who left in the air his stay with Los Universitarios after they were eliminated by Chivas in Repechaje.

Lillini hasn’t renewed his contract with Pumas, which expires in June, making him a viable option for La Máquina, as he knows Liga MX and has excelled coaching a team with a limited roster, making him the perfect replacement for the Peruvian coach.

How much will they have to pay for Lillini?

If nothing happens in the upcoming weeks, Andrés Lillini will become a free agent and can arrive at Cruz Azul for free, although La Máquina will have to negotiate with Juan Reynoso his departure, as he still is under contract with Cruz Azul until December.
