Cruz Azul: Jaime Ordiales already found Juan Reynoso’s replacement for next season

Thanks to the 13 points that they earned in the first part of the season; Los Cementeros had the chance of maintaining themselves in the top part of the table even with the irregular results that they had from the seventh round until the end.

They even had the chance of making it directly into Liguilla on the last game of the season, as a victory against Club América in the Clásico Joven would have given them enough points to surpass Club Puebla and Atlas.

But La Máquina wasn’t able to beat Las Águilas and ended the regular season with a scoreless draw that sent them to the eight place, forcing Cruz Azul to play Repechaje, where they will have to face Club Necaxa in Estadio Azteca to earn a ticket to Liguilla.

Reynoso spoke about his future with Cruz Azul

On the press conference after the Clásico Joven, Reynoso was asked about his future, as reports suggest that he’s future is hanging by a threat, especially given the enmity that exists between him and Jaime Ordiales, Cruz Azul sporting director.

Reynoso said that for now, he’s focused on finishing Clausura 2022 as strong as they can, although left the possibility for his dismissal in the hands of the sporting director, as the final decision will be taken by them and not by him.

The Peruvian coach also said that for now, he plans on finishing his contract with Cruz Azul -he has six months left-, and after that he’ll take a few days to decide his future and if he continues with La Máquina, unless he’s sacked first.

Ordiales is looking for a replacement

According to reports, Jaime Ordiales is waiting for the season to be over to part ways with the Peruvian coach, and he already has a replacement in mind: Diego Cocca, who will finish his contract with Atlas and become a free agent.
