After the scoreless draw in Estadio Azteca for the last round of the regular season of Clausura 2022, Cruz Azul let go the opportunity of making it into Liguilla directly, avoiding Repechaje, as Club Puebla’s defeat against Mazatlán FC and Atlas draw against Tigres opened the option for La Máquina.

Instead, they will have to wait until Sunday night to know if they will receive the Repechaje at home or if they will have to visit Atlético San Luis after dropping from the sixth place to the nine, something that San Luis will be able to do if they beat Santos Laguna.

The poor results that Cruz Azul achieved in the last part of the season, added to the elimination of the CONCACAF Champions League thanks to the 2-1 victory of Pumas for the first leg of the semifinals and the scoreless draw on the second leg, have made Cruz Azul followers ask for Juan Reynoso’s dismissal.

Jaime Ordiales, La Máquina sporting director, who is known for his enmity with the Peruvian coach, is just waiting for the end of the season to part ways with him, as he is already looking for his potential replacements and has started pursuing the addition of the coach that will replace him.

Who is the coach that will replace Reynoso?

Since Jaime Ordiales returned to Cruz Azul to replace Álvaro Dávila, things have grown tenser between them, and given that he has never liked Reynoso, he’s looking for an excuse to part ways with him before his contract expires.

Ordiales requested that Cruz Azul wins at least one title this semester if Reynoso wants to remain in La Máquina’s dugout, something that looks complicated, as the team have come to less in recent weeks. That’s why Ordiales already has a replacement in mind.

According to reports from Diario Récord, Ordiales is after the signing of Diego Cocca, who currently coaches Atlas but will become a free agent at the end of the season and he hasn’t started negotiating a contract extension.

He will arrive with new player to Cruz Azul

One of the things that Diego Cocca is requesting to La Máquina in order to join them for the 2022-23 Liga MX Season, is to strengthen the current roster, especially the center back and forward position, as they have been the weakest parts of the lineup.
