The draw for the Concachampions 2022 has been made and the first-round matches for the tournament have been announced, but who will be the opponents of the Liga MX teams?

Cruz Azul, Pumas, Leon, and Santos already know who they will play against and below, you will find the list of the teams they will face.

It should be noted that, since its first editions, Mexican teams have maintained their dominance in the tournament, with America, Cruz Azul, Pachuca, Monterrey, and Pumas being the teams that have won the tournament the most times.

But that is no reason not to prepare well for this competition, which means getting to know the opponents they will face

Who will be the opponents of the Liga MX teams?

Forge FC, from Canada

The club was founded in 2017 and is the youngest team in the competition. The team earned its pass to CONCACAF's top club competition by finishing third in the CONCACAF 2021 League

This year they were the runner-up in the Canadian Premier League, a final they lost to Pacific FC by a score of 1-0.

The Hammers failed to repeat the success of their past tournaments, as they emerged as two-time champions of the 2019 and 2020 tournaments.

While they were unable to repeat the triumph this time, they are a winning team that is ready to face Cruz Azul

Saprissa, of Costa Rica

The Costa Rican team that has won the most Concachampions League titles returns to the tournament and will face an old acquaintance in its first match: Pumas UNAM

Saprissa has already beaten Pumas once in the final of the tournament, in 2005 final, by a score of 3-2.

The team is a powerhouse in their country and today they will be playing in the final of the Liga Promerica 2021 against Herediano.

This team earned its place in the competition by finishing fifth in the Concacaf League 2021. But this defeat is not a reflection of the team's overall performance.

In other words, Pumas will have to take all the necessary precautions to slow down the scoring machine that El Monstruo will bring to the CONCACAF tournament.

Guastatoya, Guatemala

Club Deportivo Guastatoya has not been going through its best moment lately; in fact, it qualified for the Concachampions 2022 thanks to its fifth-place finish in the Concacaf League 2021.

However, the team has been on a winning streak for a few years now.

For example, they have crowned champions of the Guatemalan National League in the Torneo Clausura 2018, Torneo Apertura 2018, and Torneo Apertura 2020 of Guatemalan soccer.

This team will be the first rival of Leon de México, so a top-level duel is expected between both teams.

CF Montréal, Canada

The reigning champion of the Canadian Premier League earned an automatic berth to the confederation's top club tournament after winning its league.

The club, once known as Impact, is on a winning streak after being crowned in their country's top division.

The team defeated Toronto FC by a score of 1-0 to qualify for the Concachampions 2022.

It was Romell Quioto, one of their star players, who finally scored the goal that allowed his team to finish 2021 in style.

In the 72nd minute, the Honduran striker shot beautifully over the head of goalkeeper Quentin Westberg.

So this team will be the first rival of Santos Laguna, a club that failed to advance to the semifinals of Liga MX, having been defeated by Tigres.
