The Aguilas had a friendly match against the Potros de Hierro and in this friendly match, Club America vs Atlante was finally able to debut Jonathan dos Santos and Diego Valdés, two of the brand new reinforcements of the Coapa club.

The duel was useful for Santiago Solari, who was able to observe new offensive variations and at the same time give an introduction to all the players who joined the club for the Clausura 2022

The debut of Jona dos Santos and Diego Valdés

Club America's newest reinforcements were finally able to have minutes on the field, although it was not in an official match, but in a friendly match that was useful for both to get into the rhythm.

Both Jona and Valdés were able to step on the field and had their first minutes with the Club America jersey.

In the case of Jona, he started as a starter in the midfield, but the situation of Valdés was very different since he entered in the second half and is still recovering from the muscular discomfort he suffered in the last few days.

And while Jona could surely make his debut against Mazatlán FC in Round 2 of the 2022 Mexican League, Valdés will have to wait to make his debut in the tournament

As a result, the player is in doubt to start the Aguilas' next game and is likely to see action until Round 3.

Valdés is not the only player at the club who is recovering, as Miguel Layún is also recovering and was unable to play in the Coapa club's previous match against Puebla

Club America is in sixth place in the overall standings and has yet to show signs of being the dominant and dangerous team it should be.

Despite the fact that the tournament has just begun, the Coapa club has not been able to be a protagonist and everyone considers that their first match against Puebla, which ended in a 1-1 draw, can be considered a defeat.

Club America vs Atlante: another draw for the Aguilas

However, even though it was a friendly match, the Aguilas were barely able to tie the game 1-1, which was reminiscent of the team's debut in the current Liga MX 2022.

It is clear that since it was a friendly match, neither the coach nor the players were going to give 100 percent on the field.

The problem is that this same result was the one they obtained when they made their debut on January 7 against Puebla, a team with which they barely managed to salvage a 1-1 draw.

Club America resorted to this friendly match in order not to lose their rhythm since their next game, the Round 2 match, will be on Wednesday, February 16

The reason for this change in the schedule is that repairs still need to be made to the Mazatlán FC team's stadium, which is why the date of the match had to be moved, although the time of the match has not yet been revealed.
