Fernando Ortíz already decided his future in Club América
Their good streak started with a 0-0 draw in the Clásico Nacional on their visit to Chivas, and continued with six straight victories against Toluca, Club Necaxa, FC Juárez, Xolos de Tijuana, Club León and Tigres, where they showed that they are able to give a fight to any team.
The good results have to do with the system that Fernando “Tano” Ortíz implemented, as he parted ways with the 4-3-3 scheme that Solari was stuck to and decided to change the formation according to the rival, boosting the strengths of his players.
One of the players that was most benefited by his coaching system was Álvaro Fidalgo, who arrived at Las Águilas for Clausura 2021, as a personal request of Santiago Solari, but he remained on the starting XI after his departure thanks to his outstanding performances.
The 25-year-old offensive midfielder arrived at Club América after playing for six months with CD Castellón, from the Spanish third flight, team that he joined after becoming a free agent, as he didn’t was renewed by Real Madrid Castilla.
Las Águilas acquired him for just $1 million and thanks to his outstanding participations has increased his market value up to $4 million, although it wouldn’t stop teams pursuing his addition to make an offer for him, as they know that he can be an immediate improvement.
According to reports, several La Liga teams are looking for his addition, as they’ve been impressed with the talent he’s displayed in Liga MX, where he has found the regularity that he needed to prove why he was considered by Real Madrid.
Among the teams that have showed interest in him, Rayo Vallecano is the one that has the most possibilities of acquiring him, especially if Santiago Solari becomes their next coach, given that he was the one that requested his addition for Club América.
