Chivas de Guadalajara will not be active this week after the March FIFA Date, as their request was approved by the top management of Liga MX, which on Monday confirmed through its official website the change of date of the match scheduled for this Saturday against Rayados de Monterrey at the Akron Stadium, corresponding to Round 12 of the Clausura 2022 " Grita por la Paz" (Shout for Peace) Tournament of the national championship.

The Rebaño Sagrado, who returned to La Perla Tapatía on Sunday from a two-game friendly tour in California to take advantage of the March FIFA Day break, was scheduled to return to the facilities at the Verde Valle sports complex on Monday to begin preparations for their next match on Saturday against Los Regios, but the Liga MX announcement changes the entire itinerary.

The main squad of Club Deportivo Guadalajara, led by its coach Marcelo Michel Leaño, ended their matches in the United States with draws (1-1) and also has three draws in their last four outings in Liga MX. Therefore, this week without activity they will have to work on the factors that have made them vulnerable in the final part of the matches, in order to end up conceding those draws.

Why was the match postponed?

Guadalajara's board of directors requested Liga MX to reschedule its match for Matchday 12 due to the condition of the turf of its Akron Stadium, which this week will be affected by a series of concerts to be given by the British pop-rock band Coldplay. Their request was accepted by the Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF).

On Monday, Liga MX confirmed on its official website the change of date for this match, which will also change its schedule to 8:00 p.m. CT.

The Rojiblancos' next game will be on Saturday, April 9, against Toluca at the Nemesio Diez Stadium, as part of Round 13, and only four days later, they will host Rayados.
