Although one of the things that Chivas is looking to prioritize is the arrival of a new striker given the lack of goals scored by El Rebaño’s forwards, they are in negotiations to sell César “Chino” Huerta, who couldn’t have an opportunity throughout the season.

Chivas are after a new striker and their top choice is a Dual Nat

Both Marcelo Michel Leaño and Ricardo Cadena decided to erase him from the team, as César Huerta only played 10 games in the regular season, only two of them as a starter, in week 1 and week 2 of Clausura 2022.

On those games, the 22-year-old Mexican forward wasn’t able to play a full game, as he was substituted after the half time and since then, he was demoted to have a secondary role, as he was used as a substitute in garbage time.

“El Chino” couldn’t score nor assist during Clausura 2022 in the few playing time he had, as he was on the pitch for only 10% of the minutes, which is why Chivas are already planning to part ways with him once the summer transfer window opens.

Where will he play next season?

One of the best seasons that César Huerta had since his debut in Liga MX was when he was loaned to Mazatlán FC, where his good performances made Chivas wanting him back on the roster, where he disappeared given the few opportunities that he received.

Huerta is hoping that, once he leaves El Rebaño, he can recover his shape and scoring streak, and according to reports from Diario AS, he’s close to leave Chivas, as only details keep him away from Pumas, who are interested in adding a young striker to complement Juan Ignacio Dinenno.

Although his current market value is set at just above $1 million, Pumas wouldn’t pay for his transfer, as the teams are negotiating a player swap, although El Rebaño might have to include money in the transaction given the low market value that Huerta currently has.

Who is the player that Chivas is looking to acquire?

For a few weeks now, the interest that Chivas has in Alan Mozo has been growing, and Los Universitarios don’t see with bad eyes parting ways with him if they can receive Huerta and a good economical offer to complete the transfer.
