What does Marcelo Bielsa think of the offer that Chivas made him?

Reports suggest that they are after Marcelo Bielsa, who has been without a club since late February, when Premier League side decided to part was with him given the poor results they had this season, even if he was the coach that helped them return to the English top flight after 16 years.

“El Loco” Bielsa is no stranger to Mexican soccer, as he already coached in Liga MX back in the 90s, when he helped boosting the careers of players like Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Pavel Pardo and Jared Borgetti, as he arrived at Atlas for the 1992-93 season, and after a couple of seasons he became Club América coach.

According to reports, Bielsa is willing to return to Mexican soccer after 26 years of coaching his last game in Mexican soil, but he has yet to think about Chivas offer and if it’s the right call for him and the future of his career.

What did he do when he received Chivas offer?

El Rebaño Sagrado knows that they need to improve their performances for Apertura 2022 as they can’t have another season full of irregularities like Clausura 2022, which is why they want to have one of the best coaches in the world in front of the team.

According to soccer journalist César Luis Merlo, Marcelo Bielsa had an unexpected reaction, as the moment he learned about Chivas interest, he requested tapes to start analyzing the team, their performances, and the roster.

Amaury Vergara and Ricardo Peláez took hands on the matter and provided him and all his coaching staff with tapes from the most recent season, as they want to convince him to take over the team, as it will not improve only the first team but also the academy teams.

The academy teams, his priority

Wherever Bielsa goes, he tries to establish a foundation of young players, both from the academy teams and acquiring young talents to build a team that can grow together, making his arrival to Chivas one of the best decisions for Mexican soccer if it ends up happening, given that Chivas plays only with Mexican players, they could be the future of El Tri.
