Chivas: Ángel Zaldívar will leave El Rebaño and they already have his replacement

The arrival of Ricardo Cadena for the last four games of Clausura 2022 helped Chivas to leave behind the irregularity that they had with Marcelo Michel Leaño on the dugout and made them one of the strongest contenders for Liga MX title.

But in Chivas know that if they want the streak to keep going, not just in Liguilla but also for next season, they need to find a striker that can score consistently, as Ángel Zaldívar hasn’t been able to contribute since Cadena became the coach.

Zaldívar scored only three goals in the regular season, which is why Chivas management are looking to add a new striker to replace him, as they need someone that can score consistently to round out the roster and increase their possibilities of returning to the front pages of Liga MX.

According to reports, Ricardo Peláez is interested in acquiring Elías Hernández, player that he knows from his stint in Cruz Azul, as he negotiated his arrival from Club León back in 2018. Currently, Elías returned to León, but he’d be willing to join Peláez once again.

How much will Chivas have to pay for him?

According to Transfermarkt, if Chivas were to acquire the Panzas Verdes’s striker, they will have to pay around $1 million, less than half of the market value of Ángel Zaldívar, who will have to look for a new team once Clausura 2022 is over.
