Carlos Salcedo sparked controversy yesterday on his Twitter account and triggered rumors about his possible departure from the club coached by Miguel Herrera

Although the message sounds like a thank you, many fans and media claim that it is actually a farewell to his current club.

All this in the context of the Nuevo León team's elimination against La Fiera.

Salcedo was a starter in his team's 2-1 defeat in the Liga MX semi-finals at the TSM stadium. This was Tigres' farewell to the Apertura 2021 tournament.

However, the rumors of Carlos Salcedo's departure from Tigres did not start with this match, but rather since he had a run-in with his coach Miguel Herrera in the match against Monterrey.

There was even speculation that the coach had requested the arrival of Bruno Valdez, but to date there has been no official announcement in this regard.

Another reason why Carlos Salcedo was reportedly no longer comfortable at Tigres was that the player felt uncomfortable with El Piojo's playing scheme.

This change in the scheme consisted of incorporating 5 defenders, a lineup that, according to rumors, was not to the Titan's liking.

Carlos Salcedo and his problems at Tigres

Rumors of the Titan's departure are not new and gained momentum in November of this year, when he had a fight with his teammate Leo Fernandez

The fight even reached the media as it was recorded on video, and was disseminated through a Twitter account of Tigres fans.

Salcedo also moves away from Mexican National Team

Salcedo has not only had problems at Tigres, but has also been left out of the Mexican National Team for bad behavior.

This is because he had a fight with Jorge Theiler, assistant to Gerardo Martino, current coach of El Tri.

This news was exposed by Damián Zamogilny in a television interview and he commented that there was a possibility that the Titan would return to the national team.

This possibility was that Salcedo would apologize to Martino's assistant in order to return to El Tri.

However, this possibility is looking more and more distant due to the fact that Salcedo was not called up for the friendly match against Chile.

What has Carlos Salcedo said about his possible departure from Tigres?

Although the player has not made any official statement about his possible departure from the team, in interviews he has given in the past, he has assured that there are European clubs interested in him.

It would not be the first time for the Mexican player to play in Europe, as he has played for Fiorentina and Frankfurt

Tigres would be the sixth team in his career

At 28 years of age, the player has played for 6 teams so far: he first played for Tigres' youth team, but was unable to make his debut in Liga MX

On May 5, 2013, he made his debut with Real Salt Lake and later scored his first goal with that team, against Colorado Rapids on September 19, 2014.

Carlos Salcedo would return to Mexico in 2015 to play for Chivas de Guadalajara, and would score his first goal on March 1, 2015 in the home win against Monterrey

In 2016, he began his adventure in Europe, being loaned with an option to buy to Fiorentina. He made his debut in Serie A in 2016.

On June 13 of that same year, he was loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt and on May 14, 2018, his purchase by the German team in a 4-year contract became official.

And it was not until 20 January 2019 that the player was purchased by Tigres, becoming the team's latest reinforcement for the Clausura 2019.
