The Mexican National team will close the year 2021 facing the Chilean National team in a friendly match to prepare for the final stages of the CONCACAF qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup next year.

The upcoming December 8th match between the Mexican National team and Chile in Austin, Texas, will be an opportunity for Gerardo Martino to experiment with the call-up of players who will have their first chance to play for El Tri, such as 19-year-old Marcelo Flores.

Among the names that Tata has already secured in addition to Flores are Los Angeles Galaxy's Julian Araujo and Efraín Álvarez and Chivas player Luis Olivas. These three footballers will be living their first experience with El Tri, as well as the Arsenal Player.

Araujo recently made his change of federation after previously representing the United States, and will have the opportunity to showcase himself to compete for a spot in the qualifiers with Chaka Rodriguez and Jorge Sanchez.

In the case of Olivas, Martino was impressed by the work he did in the Chivas defense during the current Apertura 2021, although his team was eliminated, it was one of the most outstanding players of the tournament.

Santiago Giménez and Fernando Beltrán, who have been observed at different times by the Argentinean strategist will also be called up along with these four. All of them will be looking to fill Tata Martino's eye.

In a statement published on its social networks, El Tri revealed that the players Efraín Álvarez, Julián Araujo of Los Angeles Galaxy, Santiago Giménez of Cruz Azul, Luis Olivas, Fernando Beltrán, and Uriel Antuna of Chivas have already joined the training camp and are working under the orders of the physical trainers.

Liga MX players included in the selection

On Tuesday, 14 Liga MX players joined the training camp. Erick Aguirre and Alfonso González from Monterrey, Sebastián Córdova, Emilio Lara, Mauro Lainez, Jordan Silva and Salvador Reyes from América, Alan Cervantes, Omar Campos, Eduardo Aguirre and Carlos Acevedo from Santos Laguna and Luis Ángel Malagón from Necaxa. Also that same day, Marcelo Flores from Arsenal joined the team.

For this friendly match, Gerardo Martino will not be able to use the European players and the members of the squad that will play in the Liga MX final, so he has called up most youth players.

The remaining Tata Martino's call-up list is still to be confirmed.

El Tata will have to define his roster by next Sunday as soon as the Semifinal series is over, as several players on his roster are still active.

David Ochoa, who plays for Real Salt Lake of the MLS, is competing in the Playoffs and if he reaches the Final, he would miss the opportunity to play with El Tri for the first time.

Tata Martino´s training camp starts on Monday

The last players selected by Tata Martino will be incorporated between Monday and Tuesday of the following week to report to their teammates to continue training for the last game of the Mexican national soccer team in 2021.
