Mauricio Doehner, liaison between Cemex and Tigres, acknowledged that a friendly match is being negotiated between Tigres, currently coached by Miguel el Piojo Herrera, and Bayern Munich, according to ESPN Digital.

"It is a dream we have, we are studying the possibility, it would be a great thing. After the Club World Cup final, we deserve a rematch," commented Mauricio Doehner, liaison between Cemex and Tigres.

Signatures are needed to make it official

The match, as reported by this media, is scheduled for next summer and contracts have not yet been signed. Bayern Munich would only play against Tigres in Mexico, and will also play other matches in the United States.

A delegation from the German team is expected to come to Nuevo León in March to review the logistics, lodging, and security in the state, in order to approve the game against the Tigres.

The visit was scheduled for last week but had to be postponed due to problems beyond the control of both institutions.

If negotiations are completed, the game would be a rematch of the FIFA Club World Cup final played by both teams in 2021, which was won by the Bundesliga side, 1-0, with a controversial goal.

Mexico in 2019 boasted the largest Bayern Munich fan community outside of Germany.

No date yet for the start of construction of the new Tigres stadium

The liaison between Cemex and Tigres, Mauricio Doehner, acknowledged that they are still working on the construction of the new stadium, although neither the team nor the cement company will provide resources for the construction of the building and the date for the start of construction is not yet known.

"We are working on it, the idea is there, when all the information is available, we will release it. Right now we are going to do carpentry and piping work," commented Mauricio Doehner.
