América will host the Tuzos of Pachuca at the Azteca Stadium on Sunday, February 20, at 4:00 p.m., in a match corresponding to date six of the Grita México Clausura 2022.

América is fourteenth in the overall standings with just four points and lost 2-1 to Mazatlán FC in a pending game on Wednesday, prompting fans to complain on social networks about their team's performance.

Solari could be sacked if he loses to Pachuca

The poor start to the tournament can be seen not only in the four points scored in five games, but also in the fact that they are the third-worst defense in the tournament, behind only Necaxa and Santos, and their offense is not even in the Top 10 of the tournament, with only six goals.

In view of this, Santiago Solari, coach of the Azulcremas, acknowledged that they are not having a good start to the tournament and assured that he is responsible for not making them outperform the team in the early stages.

"When it comes to statistics, we take responsibility, we did not play well in the first half. We did not play as we did in Torreón, it is true that this beginning of the tournament is not good, but last year we were super leaders, we were the best team in the tournament from January to December in the regular phase, not in the playoffs. We have to put this right," said Solari.

"When results are not forthcoming, goals are not achieved or we do not compete, it is everyone's responsibility, just like when we break records and we all have to do it together. We are all one and there is no division because we work together every day. The initial approach did not work and that is something I have to focus on and that is how it is," added the strategist on Thursday after the loss to Mazatlán.
