Amaury Vergara knows that the irregular results that happened in Clausura 2022 can’t repeat again, as a team like Chivas needs to be on the fight for the top spots and not battling for the last spot of Repechaje, which is why he already find a way to strengthen the squad for next season.

Chivas: this is what Marcelo Bielsa is requesting to become their next coach

Vergara knows that El Rebaño Sagrado has been lacking an idol for several years now, as the closest thing that there’s been is Alexis Vega, who they finally agreed to term to extend his contract with Chivas for two more years.

Matías Almeyda was also someone that had a strong connection with the stands of Estadio Akron, especially after he managed to win five titles with Chivas in only three years, the only coach that has been able to do it in El Rebaño’s history.

That’s why Amaury Vergara knows that Chivas needs to add big names for the next season, not only to leave behind Marcelo Michel Leaño’s stint, that was a failed experiment, but also to return to the front pages of Liga MX, where they haven’t been in a long time. Luckily for him, he has found a way of doing it.

Marcelo Bielsa is the priority

In recent days, the name of Marcelo Bielsa has been linked to El Rebaño Sagrado, as he is still looking to continue his career and already knows Mexican soccer, which makes him a viable option for Chivas, although his high salary is what was impending continuing the negotiations.

But according to sports journalist César Huerta, Chivas is close on signing a deal for the exclusive rights of their games with TUDN that is worth up to $20 million, which will allow them to have a way of paying Marcelo Bielsa at least $4 million per season, as “El Loco” is willing to lower to half the salary he earned at Premier League side Leeds United.

Reports from Ignacio “Fantasma” Suárez, suggest that even if the new deal with TUDN will be $10 million less than their previous contract with the broadcasting company, they still be the highest-paid team in Liga MX.

Carlos Vela is also a possibility

The $20 million that Chivas will earn for their transmission rights can also help them to sign Carlos Vela, who according to Transfermarkt, he hasn’t signed yet with Los Angeles FC, which opens the door for his arrival as a free agent over the summer, as they now have the economic power to offer him a $4.5 million salary.
