Rodrygo Goes, the youngster, who is just 21 years old, has shone so brightly in Brazil that his club sold him for 45 million euros to Real Madrid. In his debut as a Merengue, against Osasuna in LaLiga in the 2018/19 campaign, it took him just one minute to open his scoring account and put the Santiago Bernabéu in his pocket, he repeated his goal in his second game against Leganés and scored a hat-trick in the Champions League against Galatasaray that same season.

Who is Rúben Dias, Manchester City's star defender facing Real Madrid?

His beginnings in Brazil

The attacker arrived at Santos in 2011 to join the futsal team, after playing for Sao Paulo. Since then, he stood out in the youth categories, being treated as the club's main gem.

Rodrygo is a born goalscorer and his numbers prove it. In the Paulista U-17 Championship, for example, he scored six times in the 15-0 win over Jabaquara. The good performances at Santos earned him a call-up to the U-17 Brazilian National Team, in March 2017.

In addition, Rodrygo was the youngest player to sign with Nike, the sportswear company. Neymar signed his contract with the same company when he was 13 years old. He is also an avowed fan of Neymar and even posted a photo on his social network with the PSG striker.

Arrival at Real Madrid

Since his arrival at Club Blanco, Rodrygo has played a total of 106 games. The Brazilian made his debut with the team at the age of 18 under the orders of Zinedine Zidane. Normally used as a change, however, in this last season and under the orders of Carlo Ancelotti, he has played more games as a starter.

In the 2021/22 season, Rodrygo has already played 45 games, 29 in LaLiga, where he already won the title with Los Merengues, 10 in the Champions League, 3 in the Copa del Rey, and 2 in the Spanish Super Cup. For this season he has also had more direct participation in goals with Madrid, having 9 goals and 8 assists in all competitions.

In his entire career with Real Madrid, he has scored a total of 17 goals and provided 17 assists. Nada mal para un jugador de 21 años, en donde tiene como compañeros a Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Vinicius Junior, Marco Asensio y Karim Benzema.
