Thomas Muller has extended his reputation as the 'Barca Expert' by scoring another goal against the Blaugrana. The 32-year-old German international was on hand to score another goal against the Spanish side during the Matchday 1 fixture of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League season. His goal on Tuesday night takes him to a total of 7 goals in 6 matches against the Catalan club.

In the 32nd minute of the match, Muller took a shot from about 22m out only for it to take a huge deflection off the back of Eric Garcia and into the goal. His 7th goal against Barcelona made him the only player to have scored that many goals against the Blaugrana. Also, the World Cup winner scored for the eighth time on Matchday 1 fixtures. This made him the only Bayern Munich player to have scored in 8 opening matches of the UEFA Champions League.

While speaking to the press about the match and his goal, Thomas Muller admitted that he loves playing and scoring against Barcelona. The versatile midfielder/attacker revealed that the style of play of the Barcelona side is what makes him find the net against them yesterday. Muller stated that the fact that Barcelona plays the Open football system allows him to get some space in front of the defenders. And just like that was how Thomas Muller scored his first goal against the Blaugrana on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich under new coach Julian Nagelsmann got off to a very good start in the UEFA Champions League. They will hope to replicate this feat all through the group stages. The Bavarians last won the competition in 2020 when they defeated PSG in the final by one goal to nothing, 1-0.
