With the end of the season "just around the corner", the different European teams are beginning to shape the future of sport. And in Catalonia it isn't the exception. After a campaign where they only got the Copa del Rey, in Barcelona the time has come for President Joan Laporta to make decisions for next season, and one of those affected could be the American defender Sergiño Dest.

According to the Spanish newspaper Sport, the top executive of the Catalan team has defined a restructuring plan, which would imply that only eight players, including Lionel Messi, will be untouchable, while another 10 will be declared transferable. And although Dest isn't within this group, for the publication "Barça still doesn't have a clear idea" of what they will do with him, taking into account that he arrived at Barcelona as a confidant of coach Ronald Koeman, who will be dismissed of its functions; to make matters worse, he could lose his position to the possible new addition, Brazilian Emerson Royal, from Real Betis.

Despite the fact that he has a contract with the culé team until June 2025, the American is in that group "of uncertainty", which also includes the French defender Clement Lenglet and the Portuguese forward Francisco Trincão, who will be awaited for an offer or by the departure of other team figures.

It is precisely at that point, Barcelona would have decided the departure of at least ten players, including names such as the French Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembélé and Samuel Umtiti, the Brazilians Neto, Philippe Coutinho and Matheus, the Swedish Martin Braitwhite, the Dominican-Spanish Junior Firpo, the Bosnian Miralem Pjanic and the youth squad Riqui Puig.

The Catalan media assured that there are eight footballers, including Lionel Messi, who will continue at all costs in the squad, such as the German goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen, the Dutchman Frankie De Jong, the Uruguayan Ronald Araújo, the midfielder Pedri, plus those who come from La Masía, like Óscar Mingueza, Ansu Fati and Ilaix Moriba.
