Lionel Messi and his family have been in search of a permanent home since the Argentine's move from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain last month. The unexpected move did not leave time for the family to prepare before moving, one of which is to secure a new apartment as the star doesn't have a house in Paris. The family has been residing at the five star luxurious Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris. It is believed that Messi wants their accomodation sorted as soon as possible and put his wife Antonella in charge of finding a home for the family. The family has now found a suitable house in Paris.

Why Lionel Messi turned down the first house.

Two weeks ago, it was reported that the family have gotten an apartment, the Paris Castle "Pink Place" a house which fits some of the specifications Messi outlined for their new home which includes an indoor pool, gym, children’s rooms, secluded parking, private home cinema, air conditioning and garden, similar to the family's home in Barcelona. The deal fell through when the owner of the house valued at £41m increased the monthly rent by £8,500 when he knew the family moving in was Messi's.

What are the features of the new house?

The new house found by the Messi's family which they will be moving into in the coming days is a two storey four bedroom apartment which falls short of the initial specifications of the Argentine but also has some advantages. It is located in the Neuilly-sur-Seine area of France, just 20minutes drive away from the club's training facility and strategically located that it will help him avoid the busy Paris road when driving to training. It has a small garden but doesn't have an indoor pool as earlier wanted by Messi. It will cost the family a whopping €20,000 monthly, €480,000 in a year and for the 2years of his contract will cost €960,000. With his reported €35m per year salary after tax, it is a cheap one for Messi.

What influenced Messi's decision?

The decision to take the house by the Messi family was influenced by the space 300sq metres and the fact that it will provide the family with privacy which Messi loves a lot. Also it's proximity to the club's training facility as well as avoiding the busy Paris roads. It is also reported that the decision was influenced by the fact that Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain and Argentina teammates, Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria also live in the same vicinity and will be his neighbours.
