Jesús Corona could miss the rest of the season following the injury he suffered last weekend in a 3-2 win over Famalicão. According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Tecatito could have played his last game of the 2020/21 season after being the victim of a trauma to his left leg, according to the Porto medical.+

The Mexican has already started the rehabilitation work, however, the previously mentioned newspaper highlights that the board could choose not to risk Jesús Corona due to the fear that he will suffer a new injury that will keep him off the court for months. In this way, the Porto player would be practically ruled out for the important commitment against Benfica scheduled for next Thursday. The meeting is key in the aspirations of both clubs to qualify for European competitions next season.

With regard to the race for the Primeira Liga title, Porto is in second place in the standings with 70 points, six points less than Sporting Lisboa, the club that leads the standings and is shaping up to be proclaimed champion.

Jesús Corona has played 46 games this season and the Mexican would be one of the players called by Gerardo Martino, coach of Tri, for the Concacaf Nations League Finals and the 2021 Gold Cup. This injury could prevent his participation, although a new analysis and evolution must be awaited to define this.

Tecatito Corona will not be operated

Despite the complexity of the current situation, in the last hours it was confirmed that Jesús Corona will not undergo an operation to solve his injury and that everything will take place as long as his body needs it, without forcing any situation external.
