Tajon Buchanan debuts with Club Brugge on his first game in Europe

Not long after Tajon Buchanan arrived in Jupiler Pro League to play for Belgian side Club Brugge out of New England Revolution, he debuted on the starting XI for his new team against K Sint-Truidense VV in a match the won by a 2-0 score.

The Canadian international joined Club Brugge on a 3-and-a-half-year deal worth $9.7 million, and already started proving why he was chosen by the Dutch team that currently stands second on the Belgian league.

But the 22-year-old was not the only one to debut today for Club Brugge, as his coach, Alfred Schreuder, was on his first official match on the Blauw-Zwart bench, something that is a good sign for the right-winger, as it shows how much confidence Schreuder has in his newest addition.

Buchanan’s numbers as a professional soccer player

Buchanan debuted with the Revs in 2019 as a substitute against Columbus Crew. He played a total of 68 games in the MLS, where he managed to score on 12 occasions and assisted 11 times. As a Canada international, he’s played a total of 16 games, scoring 3 goals and assisting on 4 occasions.
