Riqui Puig: see what the Barcelona youngster now has in common with Xavi

Barcelona young midfielder Riqui Puig has endured a very difficult time during the era of Ronald Koeman who has kept him out of the team regardless of how hard he works during training and how well he performs when given the chance to, but he is hoping for a change when Xavi takes over.

The midfield controller was told by koeman he was never part of his plans when he took over last year and he should find a new club but the Spaniard refused saying he would rather spend another year playing at Barcelona B than to leave his boyhood club.

Ronald Koeman was sacked as Barcelona manager last week and Barcelona B coach Sergi Bajuan was installed temporarily but is yet to give him a chance but is believed to be highly rated by Xavi and will surely get his chance when the former Barcelona captain takes over at the club.

Puig today made the decision to change his agent, until this moment was managed by his father but has now turned to Arturo Canales who is also the agent of Gerard Pique and incoming Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez. A decision which gives an hint of his future.
