Leipzig central defender Ibrahima Konaté is on the agenda for Real Madrid and Barcelona. The 21-year-old French defender is one of the most promising center-backs in Europe and has caught the attention of the greats of Spanish football, facing the next summer pass market, in which they will seek to be the protagonists in order to gain access to the first shots of the European elite.

At 1.94 in height, he is a physical marvel. Madrid has followed him for more than a year and only a fiber break, which has forced him to miss 37 games, has prevented the white club from deciding to take the step yet. Barcelona, for its part, also has Konaté as one of its objectives to correct the problems that it has been having this season in the center of the rear.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona were interested in signing Dayot Upamecano, but his recent move to Bayern has caused his place on the list to be filled by his teammate in the center of Leipzig's rear. His termination clause is 45 million, but the German club would be willing to negotiate a transfer for a figure that is around 25 or 30 million. In Madrid, Zidane is his main supporter. The Madrid coach is impressed with his physical strength and would see him as the ideal replacement to cover a possible departure for Varane.

Injuries have been his weak point the last two seasons. This campaign has suffered the consequences of the fiber breakage that it suffered last season and has missed 3 games this year for that reason. In addition, he has been absent in another seven more due to an ankle injury because of which he is still picking up competition rhythm. Injuries aside, the technical reports handled by both clubs are very good.
