It was 2006 when Oswaldo Sánchez lived one of the crucial moments of his professional career. Chivas was about to play the final game of the Apertura Liga MX against Deportivo Toluca when the goalkeeper received a very hard call, in which the club's sports adviser told him that he was going to be kicked if after the game.

Chivas decided not to count on Sánchez for the next season and was telling it to the players hours before a crucial game. Finally, Chivas defeated 2-1 Toluca and claimed champions of the season. It was a very hard moment for the goalkeeper, who knew it was going to be his very last time for the club of his life.


Almost 15 years afterwards, Sánchez revealed what happen that day, that was yet unknown. Sánchez said that he tried to convince the club to retain him after the call received, but that the decision was already made. All in all, he left on January 2007 to Santos Laguna, that paid almost $2 million for him.


Sánchez was a multi-champion legend goalkeeper for Chivas. He was formed in Atlas and also played for América, before arriving the club that marked his career. He joined in 2000 and played seven consecutive years for Chivas, before leaving to Santos Laguna after being axed.
