Why did Messi wear the number 10 at PSG?

As expected, Messi's presence was key, and PSG celebrated it in the networks with a sizzling statement: “What Leo Messi did!”. In the 38th minute, the Argentine scored with a one-on-one shot against the goalkeeper, who was unable to save it. His goal was lethal and made the whole PSG team grow.

The Argentine star has 7 goals with the French team: five in the Champions League, and a couple in Ligue 1.

That's 18 consecutive calendar years converting. Almost two decades marveling the whole world with his goals and soccer.

He has 758 goals and 321 assists in 955 official matches at the senior level. He has more direct participation in goals (1080) than games played (955). The most complete footballer ever. The player who has dominated more aspects in history.

Messi surpasses Pelé

With that goal, the Argentine surpassed the 757 goals scored by Pelé and became the third-highest scorer in the history of soccer, according to Mister Chip, a specialist in statistics.

During his time at Barcelona, Messi scored 671 goals, in addition to the 80 he has scored with the Argentina national team and the seven he has scored with PSG.

The striker enters the podium of the top scorers in the history of soccer only behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Austrian Josef Bican.

The other peculiar record held by Messi this season

According to OPTA statistics, La Pulga is the player with the most shots against the posts so far in Ligue 1, with seven. Thomas Delaine (Metz) is second with just three. Pereira de Sa (Nantes), Aurelien Tchouameni (Monaco), Giulian Biancone (Troyes) and Bamba Dieng (Olympique de Marseille), with two.

Used to defining while trying to keep the goalkeepers' opposition away, a little lack of accuracy and a dose of lack of luck placed the former Barcelona player at the top of this ranking. In his last appearance, 44 minutes into the first half, he took a free-kick that rattled the crossbar, fueling the bizarre record.

Next Friday, the Parisian team will host Rennes, also in Ligue 1, and on Tuesday 15, they will be at home to Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.
