Messi and Ronaldo to play against each other in an unexpected match in 2021

Two of the best footballers in the world, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will play against each other when their two teams, Barcelona and Juventus meet in the Joan Gamper Trophy next month.

"Joan Gamper Trophy 2021, the 56th edition of the event, is going to be one with a very big difference. For the first time ever, it will be featuring not just the men’s team but the women too, with back-to-back games against the same side, none other than Juventus." FC Barcelona wrote on their website.

The match will be played at Barcelona home stadium, Camp Boy on August 8 and local authorities have allowed for about twenty thousand fans which will be the first time that fans will return to the stadium since February 2020.

The last time Messi and Ronaldo met was at Camp Nou in the Champions League group stage. The last time Juventus played in the Joan Gamper Trophy was in 2005 and 18year old Lionel Messi had an impressive performance.
