Raúl Jiménez had his best season last year. Although he is not young, it could be considered that last year was his breakout year in the European soccer. Wolverhampton Wanders knows this and this is the reason why the price tag they have placed on the forward is high.

Non-the-less, Raúl Jiménez was the most logical option for Manchester United in the past transfer window. The Mancunian team was obsessed with acquiring Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund but could never get anywhere close to the asking price of 120 million demanded by the German side.

Although United's problems appear to be everywhere -and, specially, on the coaching and managerial side- is was clear that the team needed an upgrade on the offensive side, specially since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided to play with two strikers instead of just one and wingers.

Manchester United also asked for Erling Braut Haaland. But the solution to their problems was much closer than what they believed. For just 40 or 50 million, which is less than half of what Dortmund demanded for Sancho or Haaland, they could now been enjoying the goals of a skillful striker who is going throw his best moment. But they didn't pulled enough. And both Solskjaer and sporting director Ed Woodward are responsible for that.
