Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino will be happy with the news that injured attacker Lionel Messi has returned to the club's training. Messi was substituted in the match against Lyon with the scoreline still at 1-1 much to his dissatisfaction and reacted angrily by not shaking his manager. Lionel Messi started his first League game for Paris Saint-Germain against Olympique Lyon in the Ligue 1. Messi was seen holding his knees but signalled to the PSG touchline that he was okay to continue but manager Mauricio Pochettino wasn't having it and subbed him much to his disappointment. Messi reacted by not shaking his hands. It was then revealed after the match that he suffered a knee injury, a bruising to the bone as revealed by the MRI scan. It was immediately revealed that he will miss the match against Metz but also missed the match against Montpellier.
Lionel Messi was immediately ruled out of the game against Metz after it was announced that he has suffered a knee injury and was also not fit in time for the match against Montpellier at the weekend, but with his return to training and the UEFA Champions League match against his former manager Pep Guardiola's Manchester City coming up midweek, it will be a boost for Mauricio Pochettino and also a reunion for Messi with Guardiola. Messi missed two games which PSG won, a 2-1 win over Metz and 2-0 win over Montpellier.
Lionel Messi left Barcelona at the end of last season and joined Paris Saint-Germain. He made his debut in the match against Reims, coming on as a substitute and lasted 25 minutes. His second game was in the UEFA Champions League against Club Brugge and PSG were held to a 1-1 draw by the Belgians. The attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr started that match together. Messi's third and last match before injury was against Lyon. He has played three games but is yet to score for PSG.

The match against Manchester City may come too early for Lionel Messi to start against after his injury but if he is fit enough to make the bench, he will certainly have a part to play in the match. The club will assess him again on Monday to ascertain his fitness level.
