Almost three months ago the Copa GNL was held as a competition to get players and teams ready for the start of the Liga MX. During the tournament, Cruz Azul and Tigres found each other at semifinals. The game was heated, as all of their games are, and ended with former Cruz Azul Javier Aquino mocking about the 23-year-streak without winning the national title that the "Máquina Cementera" is currying.

Tonight, Cruz Azul will host Tigres for the 14th week of the Liga MX. Cruz Azul trails leader Leon by four points, and if they win they will put a lot of pressure on them. Tigres is on fifth place seven points behind Leon, but still with chances. The game is expected to be very heated, so Aquino tried to calm down the emotions before.

He said he was very sorry for what he said during semifinals.  Aquino is a Cruz Azul academy product. He insisted on the fact that a former player, specially a player that has came through the academy, can't be so disrespectful to his former team. After Aquinos's mocking, many former Cruz Azul players pointed out that Aquino was also part of that bad streak, so he shouldn't talk about it.

The Tigres winger admitted that the critics towards him were right. He said that Cruz Azul formed him both as a player and as a person, and that his formation was totally opposite to what he has shown during the scandal. He is also expecting a quiet game, and won't try to provoke Cruz Azul's players again this time.
