Is this Lionel Messi's best performance at Paris Saint-Germain so far?

Lionel Messi put up a masterclass performance against St Etienne at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard. The performance today is definitely Messi's best performance this season as he has only managed a goal and an assist in Ligue 1 since joining PSG in the beginning of the season. 

PSG was trailing by a goal from Denis Bouanga in the 23rd minute after Neymar's goal was cancelled by VAR, before the end of the first half Lionel Messi assisted Marquinhos from a free-kick to score a header to level with the host. 

In less than 30 minutes into the second half Lionel Messi crafted a beautiful pass to assist his countrymen Angel Di Maria to make his second assist of the day. And just before the final whistle Messi made an across from the left side of the goal post to make an assist for Marquinhos who was already in the box to head home the third goal of the day and earn himself a brace.

This saw Lionel Messi secure a hat-trick of assists to bring his goal contribution this season to five in the league. PSG is leading the table with 40 points, 14 points more than Nice in second place.
