Cristiano Ronaldo has never made a stance about politics, because it has nothing to do with his job. Less reasons to do so about politics from a country that is not his homeland, like America. But his father named him Ronaldo because he was a fan of Ronald Reagan, republican USA president between 1981 and 1989.
And the Juventus player made a luxurious purchase that has to do with the American former president, because he bought an appartment in Trump Tower in New York. It is located in the Fifth Avenue and the previous owner was Alessandro Proto, Trump's partner in real estate business.
CR7 paid around 18.5 million dollars and, while there are no signs of him signing for a MLS team soon, he has somewhere to stay if he ever travels to Manhattan. The appartment is 2497 square feet, has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. He can see Central Park at north and the Hudson River at east.
The purchase led to think if he was a Trump supporter, and some people praised him or criticized him depending of their opinions. But apparently, at the end he just see it as a big appartment that he bought. Not a symbol of something, but as a nice place to rest while he is in New York and is not playing soccer.
