Italian rivals, Inter Milan and AC Milan are going head-to-head on the signing of an Argentine youngster, Julian Alvarez. The two clubs are hoping to bring in the 21-year-old forward to bolster their attacking departments as the race for the Italian Serie A hots up. Inter and Milan will look to put in a bid for the player in January or complete a deal for him in the summer at the latest.

Julian Alvarez is the latest in a long line of brilliant forwards to come out of Argentina in recent times. The 21-year-old broke into the River Plate senior team in 2018 and has so far played 41 games, scoring 10 goals so far. Alvarez recently showed his talent when he put Boca Juniors to the sword by scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory over Superclassico rivals, Boca Juniors.

Inter Milan regard Alvarez as the perfect replacement for the departed Romelu Lukaku and the club would hope that he establishes a formidable partnership with countryman, Lautaro Martinez. Julian Alvarez would also be the perfect understudy for Martinez in case the latter leaves for FC Barcelona.

Despite having Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud in their ranks, AC Milan are on the lookout for a young, mobile striker who can add a new dimension to their play. Julian Alvarez would also learn a lot from the veteran strikers and might be interested in a move to the San Siro also.  The 21-year-old striker/winger could be available for between £20m and £40m this summer.
