Raúl Jimenez returned to his professional duties last August after eight months of inactivity due to a serious head injury. After a long recovery, he played the full match on the first date of the Premier League in which Wolverhampton lost 1-0 on their visit to Leicester.

Due to his abilities with headlong passes and his strong physical presence in the penalty area, Raúl Jimenez is considered one of the greatest strikers since he made his debut in 2011 for Club America in the Mexican First Division Liga MX. He said he felt comfortable returning to the field of play even though he will have to wear head protection for the rest of his career, as recommended by doctors. Don't despair fans, he can still make passes with his head!

Now that the Mexican is back in the game, David Luiz, the Brazilian player with whom he collided and ended up injured in November of last year, sent him a heartfelt message through his social networks giving him his blessings.

From Wolverhampton's official account, his former teams Club America, and the Mexican National Team to some of the best soccer figures such as the Mexican Guillermo Ochoa, they all gave him a warm welcome. Raúl Jimenez injury update

On November 29, 2020, the Emirates Stadium came to a standstill. Barely 15 minutes into the match between Arsenal and Wolverhampton, Jimenez and David Luiz jumped together to meet a cross: the Brazilian defender's head collided with the back of the Mexican striker's head and both fell to the ground.

Luiz stood up instantly while Raúl Jimenez collapsed and became unconscious. Doctors quickly approached the player and transferred him on a stretcher with an oxygen mask. Jimenez was immediately taken to the hospital where he had to undergo emergency surgery as the diagnosis indicated that he had suffered a skull fracture.

The recovery was slow and for several dates he was unable to defend the colors of the Mexican National Team or those of his team in England.

His medical team assures that he is physically as fit, strong and agile as ever and that his activity as a soccer player is back to completely normal.

Their next opponents include Southhampton, New Castle and Aston Villa. Even so, Raúl Jiménez has returned and they are confident in his great level to make the difference in the championship.
