Hefty price tag on De Ligt, Manchester United preparing a 85,5 million euro bid for the Juventus defender.

The english club has begun its rebuilding process under new dutch manager Erik ten Hag, who managed De Light during their time at Ajax. The Netherlands international has a standing contract with Juventus until 2024, nevertheless he is eyeing a summer move and Manchester United are an interesting proposition.

After De Ligt handed in a transfer request, other english clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester City have shown interest in the 22 year old, whose market value lies around 70 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

Manchester United have also shown interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, De Ligt’s old Ajax teammate, so a dutch reunion could be in the cards. The club did show interest for De Ligt in the past, before he opted to sign for Juventus. 

His development in the Italian club has not been the best, as the club's level has declined over the past couple of years. Now his luck can change as manager ten Hag wants De Ligt as one of his central pieces for the club's rebuilding phase.

The list includes a new centre-back, that's why the Premier League club is keen on acquiring the services of the 22 year-old sensation Matthijs De Ligt. Besides him, other players on United's radar are Brazilian forward Anthony and dutch defender Jurrien Timber.
