On Friday, Germany unleashed the full extent of their strike force on the visiting Romanian National Team for the Matchday 6 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Volksparkstadion. New German coach, Hansi Flick started a front four that consisted of Timo Werner, Leroy Sane, Marco Reus, and Serge Gnabry. Four of which would no doubt cost over £150m on the transfer market.

The German National Team was seeking to make it 6 wins out of 7 in a group consisting of North Macedonia, Armenia, Iceland, Lichtenstein and Friday's opponents, Romania. The 2014 World Champions are top of their European qualifying series group with 5 wins out of 6 at that stage.

With North Macedonia and Armenia not far behind, Hansi Flick's side had to deploy the best legs they've got. An embarrassment of attacking riches meant that Germany still had Kai Havertz, Thomas Muller and Jamal Musiala on the bench.

One of the substitutes on the night, Thomas Muller was the one who won all 3 points for Germany. The European heavyweights had fallen by behind to an Ianis Hagi 9th minute goal. Serge Gnabry pulled one back in the 52nd minute before Muller completed the comeback in the 81st minute to help Germany open up a 6-point lead at the top of the table.
