France is one of the biggest economies in Europe and invests a lot in sport and it is evident in how much they pay their senior national team who are the reigning world champions and the best team of the last five years.

The team reached the finals of the 2016 European championship and lost to a 116th minute goal, a sorrowful ending but the team regrouped and won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where each player earned as much as €500,000 in earnings and match bonuses.

The country pays €20,000 per international break. It came to public light because of Kylian Mbappé. It was reported that Mbappé donates all his national team earnings to charity and also donated all his World Cup earnings to charity.

France were knocked out of the Euro 2020 at the quarter final after losing the penalty shootout to Switzerland after Mbappé missed his penalty but yet they regrouped again and won the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League.
