The former FC Barcelona star criticized the board for giving Lionel Messi such a big contract, and the complaint went viral in social media.

Luis Figo was a star for FC Barcelona. But ended up being hated in that club, because he went directly to Real Madrid and is considered a traitor among the Cules. Still, he stated his opinion regarding the leak of Lionel Messi's contract, and he is not in the side of the player.

The Portuguese international, who is now 48 years old, went to Twitter and criticized Messi for having such a high salary, at the same time he blamed the previous board, that had Josep Maria Bartomeu as president, for handing him such a contract. There were a lot of reactions, and the post went viral very quickly.

The former winger tweeted: 'Messi's advisors deserve a statue. The management of Barça can only be compared with Gaspart's', referencing Joan Gaspart, a former president of the club that is remembered for making bad signings and the one with Figo had a fight before leaving to Real Madrid.

Figo, who is now 48 years old, played for Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Inter. He won the Ballon d'Or in 2000 while playing for the Casa Blanca, and was considered the best Portuguese player ever before Cristiano Ronaldo appeared some years later his prime.
