Cristiano Ronaldo: what must he do to help Portugal qualify for the World Cup?

The spotlight will be on Cristiano Ronaldo again tonight to help his country Portugal win their match against Republic of Ireland to put them in a good position to secure direct qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

One thing is sure, Portugal's qualification to the World Cup, whether by winning their group or qualifying through the playoffs, it's in their hands. If they win their remaining two games they will qualify directly but will face the playoffs if they finish second.

Portugal currently trail Serbia with just a point but the Serbs have played a game more and have just a game left against Portugal in Lisbon on November 14. Four points from the remaining two games will give Portugal direct qualification.

Cristiano Ronaldo's ability to save the day from impossible situations is nearly unmatched by any player in the world and if Portugal will have a seamless path to the World Cup, Ronaldo must bring his best attribute to the pitch today.
