Cristiano Ronaldo blocked the official account of Transfermarkt, a site specialized in soccer players' values, because he did not agree with the value assigned to him in a list of the most valuable players represented by Jorge Mendes, his agent, so after claiming the price, he proceeded to block them.
Cristiano Ronaldo 's son is a fan of El Tri!
This Thursday, Transfermarkt revealed what happened in March 2020, when the list was released. Then, the Portuguese, who played for Juventus, had a value of $83.59 million, but it was still very little.
"He first sent a message to our community managers. They responded to him, explained why, and said 'in people in your age group you are by far the number one,'" Christian Swart, Transfermarkt's coordinator, told The Athletic.
"I think there was a difference of 30 to 50 million (between the next on the list and Cristiano) and then he sent some smilies and then blocked us," Swart confessed.
What does Cristiano Ronaldo do and how much does he spend on his vacations?
In the original publication, which listed the list of those represented by Mendes, including Cristiano, the specialized website put an unusual description, but it was when it released the striker's block.
"We can't tag Cristiano Ronaldo because he blocked us after seeing his market value," they wrote in that 2020 post.
Two years after that valuation, the cost of the Manchester United striker has dropped to $39 million, while his colleague Lionel Messi's is $66 million.
