Cristiano Ronaldo back in Portugal training: See pictures of what he's doing

Cristiano Ronaldo is back with the Portugal National Team and many are happy to see him back. The 36-year-old has been team captain for Portugal for a long time, whilst also being the talisman for the side in goals scored. Ronaldo recently set a new record for the most goals scored in the men's international football games, now on 111, 2 goals more than Ali Daei's previous record of 109. 

In this current international break, Portugal will be facing off with Qatar in an international friendly at the Estadio Algarve on Saturday 9th October, 2021. Afterwards, Portugal will also host Luxembourg at the Estadio Algarve on Tuesday 12th, October, 2021 for their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying series.

Portugal are in Group A of the UEFA World Cup Qualifying series and they have been drawn alongside Azerbaijan, Ireland, Luxembourg and Serbia. Portugal currently sits top of the table with 13 points from 5 matches, amassed from 4 wins and 1 draw. Their closest challengers is Serbia who  are also Undefeated in the group, having won 3 and drawn 2 of their 5 matches to sit second with 11 points. 

Next Tuesday's opponents, Luxembourg are 3rd on the table with 6 points from 4 matches and a game in hand. Luxembourg so far has won 2 and lost 2 in the qualifying series. When they meet Portugal at the Estadio Algarve, they will be hoping to avoid defeat, though with Cristiano Ronaldo, that might be almost impossible.
