Ansu Fati represents the future of Barcelona's attack after the play broke onto the scene at the age of 16 but suffered setback with a career threatening injury that kept him out of action for 323 days but made a goalscoring return with his new number 10 jersey.

Lionel Messi departed the club at the beginning of the season and many called for his jersey to be retired but La Liga rule which says an outfield player must assume numbers not larger than 25 meant that couldn't happen. Rising star Ansu Fati was given the jersey.

Fati was said to have received offers from other European clubs in England, Germany, France and Spain. Manchester United was top of the list of the clubs who tried to sign the teenage sensation. PSG, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and even Real Madrid were also interested.

“I’m very happy that the club has the confidence in me. It could be that I had offers from outside, but I wanted to be really clear and my dream was to stay here and be a success here.” the teenager said after signing his contract which includes a near impossible release clause.
