Amid transfer rumors, Edinson Cavani scored for Manchester United

Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, the dream of Boca Juniors and several MLS teams for the next transfer market, today scored a goal in Manchester United's 3-1 victory over Tottenham, as a visitor, for the 31st date of the Premier League.

With eleven minutes to go, Cavani scored the 2-1 that turned the score around and led the Red Devils to triumph in London against the team of Portuguese José Mourinho, who had from the start Giovani Lo Celso and the Erik Lamela entered the second half.

The Korean Son made it 1-0 for the Spurs 40 minutes into the first half but in the second half the Brazilian Fred and Cavani turned the score and Mason Greenwood finished it in injury time.

Cavani, 34, returned to goal after two months and reached seven goals in the championship with Manchester United, where he ends his contract on June 30.

The Uruguayan's one of Boca Juniors' dreams for the next transfer market but his current level allows him to remain in the elite of European football if he so wishes.

Argentine Lo Celso played his fourth game as a starter after a long absence due to injury and was replaced 15 minutes into the second half by Moussa Sissoko. Lamela, on his part, entered eleven from the end for Tanguy NDombelé.

Due to the defeat of leaders Manchester City against Leeds (2-1), United were able to narrow the lead to eleven with seven games ahead.
