A touch of class: see the message Pirlo sent to England midfielder before Euro 2020 final against his country Italy

England and Italy clashed in the final of the Euro 2020 and it was the Azzurri who came out on top through penalties after a scintillating 120 minutes in front of the English faithfuls in Wembley.

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Philips was selected by Gareth Southgate and he justified his selection by holding down a position in the English midfield alongside Declan Rice. He was one of the players not playing for a top club in the English squad.

Philips, born in Yorkshire is referred as Yorkshire Pirlo in his hometown because of similarities he shares with the Italian legend, Andrea Pirlo, who many of this generation refer as their Idol and Philips is one of them.

The 2006 World Cup winner, despite England going against his country, Italy took out time to wish the midfielder well. Pirlo sent the video through his former teammate, Jack Harrison to wish the England 2020/21 player of the year well.
