Eight days ago, the whole world received the shocking news of Diego Maradona’s passing away. At 60 years old, the soccer legend suffered a cardiac arrest that took his life. The planet reacted to such sad news with tributes in every corner of the world, and the soccer world made sure that his name will never be forgotten.

Naturally, an autopsy was made on his body to diagnose the exact reasons that took him to death. They wanted to know if he had consumed alcohol or drugs hours before his passing, something that was hypothesized. And the testimonies from the people around him were contradicting, something that did not help to solve the question.

But something else was discovered, and the forensic service could not believe such a thing. They found out that Maradona’s heart weighed 500 grams, the double of a normal heart. The coroners are still investigating the causes of that phenomenon, given the finding generated some mystery among the doctors.

The autopsy will go on for some days more, or even weeks. Prior his death, Maradona was recovering from a brain surgery and the doctor who performed it, Leopoldo Luque, is being investigated for negligence. He testified and said he did everything he could to save this legend’s life and took care of him not as a medical professional, but as a friend.
